However, many people who try to go on a green tea weight loss diet are oftentimes disappointed with their seemingly lack of success. Many experience little or no significant weight loss, and some even claim gaining more pounds during the process! If you are thinking about subscribing to the green tea weight loss diet, here are a few basic things you should know.

The green tea weight loss diet works best if you drink plain green tea. You can glean the most benefits from this beverage by simply drinking it straight. Adding sugar or honey or cream to the mix also means adding more calories to your drink, and that is never a good thing. You are actually consuming as much as a large slice of chocolate cake if you keep drinking sweetened and creamed green tea several times a day.

Drink your green tea plain. This has zero calories but exceptionally high in organic nutrients. If you find this hard to do, try adding artificial sweeteners instead and maybe a good squeeze of lemon or any citrus fruit you prefer. These would add relatively fewer calories to your drink as compared to sugar and cream.

If you really have to have that creamy taste in your green tea, add skim milk instead of conventional cream or milk.

Replace some or most of your regular drinks with green tea. As stated earlier, plain green tea has zero calories. If you take a whole repertoire of beverages during the day (e.g. coffee, soda, wine, beer, fruit juices, milkshakes, smoothies, etc.,) you are actually consuming as much as one full meal every time. Simply replacing some or most of these beverages with plain green tea can help slash off about 22% to 30% of unwanted calories.
